You can obtain your U Card at Coffman Memorial Union or the St. Paul Student Center after your University Gmail account is active.
The U Card identifies you as a faculty member on the Twin Cities campus. It is useful for entering buildings, checking out library resources, using University facilities, purchasing tickets, and more. For details, see the U Card Office.
Note that many University buildings, including Ruttan Hall, no longer have public hours as of August 1, 2023, in response to heightened security concerns. This means that you will not be able to enter those buildings at any time without a U Card. It is therefore best practice to carry your U Card at all times in case it is needed.
