Class Confirmation

After you have signed and returned your uAPS letter of appointment, which contains all details of your class known at the time of its writing (including campus, building, room, day, time), keep a copy of the document for future reference. If any changes are made to its terms, you will receive a dated, corrected confirmation. Scheduling and room updates will be made in PeopleSoft and appear in MyU . If you have any questions, contact Lynn Cross, [email protected] ,

Class Section Cancellation

A class section may be cancelled prior to the start of the semester by CCAPS because of low enrollment (the minimum is usually 10 students) as a fiscal decision. The decision to cancel is generally made no later than two weeks before classes are scheduled to begin. Faculty are notified immediately by uAPS in this event. Faculty are not compensated for cancelled classes. Students are immediately notified by the PeopleSoft system when a class is cancelled. In addition, uAPS advisers contact students to assist in finding another class.

Class Schedule

Scheduling is arranged by the uAPS office after taking into consideration many factors, such as frequency of course offering and curricular scheduling needs.  Instructor preferences for day and time also play an important role, and we try to accommodate these preferences insofar as they are compatible with instructional priorities.  Scheduling is usually finalized well in advance of the registration period, and most change requests after the beginning of registration are not approved.

Information on your current or upcoming class is posted on MyU.  The Teaching tab will bring you to the listing of your class(es), semester by semester.  The same information can be found in a slightly different format in MyU by going to Key Links, clicking on Faculty Center, and choosing the term.

You can also bring up all the offerings of a particular course designator for a given semester, including your own, by going to the public Class Search.

University Catalog

The online University Catalog contains program descriptions and requirements as well as course offerings.

Classrooms

Most uAPS classroom classes are offered on the U of M Minneapolis campus, and occasionally on the St. Paul campus. Visit your classroom and familiarize yourself with the equipment available prior to the start of classes.

Classroom reservations for uAPS are made by the Office of Classroom Scheduling according to the schedule developed by the uAPS office. It is usually possible, however, to make location adjustments after a room is assigned. Any special room or equipment requests, or requests for room changes, should be made to the uAPS program administrator, Lynn Cross.
